KXLU 88.9FM Radio
Operated by Loyola Marymount University, the station broadcasts at 3,000 watts and covers a 30-mile radius from the Westchester campus of LMU. A WAM Media Sponsor since 2016, the station has committed to airing multiple Public Service Announcements to promote our event.
The Hometown News
With a circulation of 16,000, the paper is delivered to single-family homes in Westchester, as well as to businesses and high-traffic areas in Westchester, Playa del Rey, Marina del Rey & Playa Vista. We will be running three full-page ads and receiving one full-page HTN sponsored ad leading up to the event, plus a full page, HTN sponsored photo recap following it.
The Argonaut
Serving the entire Westside of LA with a weekly circulation of 26,000 and a weekly readership greater than 60,000, the Argonaut is a great vehicle to help build awareness for WAM, and like the HTN, will be returning as a WAM Media Sponsor. We will have two 1/2 page ads leading up to the event here, and a full page in Playa Vista Direct.
Playa Vista Direct
As part of the Argonaut Media family, PV Direct is a 4/c monthly magazine distributed to 6,000+ addresses in the Playa Vista Community and provided free at local businesses and gathering places. We’ll have a full page here to promote WAM.
Direct Mail
The USPS will deliver a WAM postcard to 5000 households in Playa Vista and Westchester the week prior to WAM.
LAX Coastal Chamber
WAM will receive 3 weeks of e-newsletter advertising with the Chamber, delivered to over 3,000+ local residents and professionals, as well as a listing on their online calendar at laxcoastal.com which receives over 6,000+ page views per month. The LAX Coastal Chamber is a highly visible network of local business leaders and produces prominent events such as the annual Fourth of July Parade.
Social Media and Email Promotion
Since we are partnering with LMU and OTIS, and showcasing 15 performance acts, over 60 vendors and 6-8 food trucks, each with its own constituency, we anticipate a broad reach for WAM through our partners’ social media along with the Emerson Avenue Community Garden’s. The Garden currently has 1100+ Facebook followers and over 1200 people who receive our monthly newsletter. In addition, over 6000 people have volunteered at the Garden since its inception, most of whom are still interested in our activities. We intend to reach out to them through our own social media platforms, but also through posts on other platforms serving the community, such as the websites NextDoor and Silicon Beach LA, and the groups Westchester Mom’s, The Playa Westchester Hub, and the Westchester Neighbor’s Association.
Signage
Sponsorship signage will be placed along the fence bordering the garden adjacent to Emerson Avenue two weeks prior and one week following the event. Traffic counts at 80th Pl. and Emerson Avenue totaled 2425/day in 2012, and have only gotten higher since. In addition, we will be placing a large number of yard signs along the Westchester 4th of July Parade route to capitalize on the large attendance to that event, as well as in the area surrounding WAM prior to the event.
Wild Chalk Postings
We also plan on doing a large number of messages in chalk on the sidewalks throughout the community to pique interest in WAM and drive people to our website, and to the event. Download our 2024 Sponsor Kit >
